Developing your sixth sense it’s easier than you might think it is. If you’re here it’s because you were supposed to be. Spirit, your guides, your higher self are all working for your greater good.
We’re all psychic! There I said it. Now you can relax if you’ve come searching for confirmation that you have some hidden talents. The truth is we all have access to higher states of consciousness. It’s up to you to make a conscious decision to first explore it, build the skill and confidently embrace the answers you receive.
Let’s discuss how you explore such a vast world with little to no information. First you need to understand the multitude of ways that your psychic sense can develop; how they develop is essentially how spirit communicates with you.
I’m launching my very FIRST BOOK and I’ll be going into detail about discovering your personal gifts, ways to develop them, how to tell the difference between your mind and the messages of spirit and the various ways to gain confirmation of messages.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates on my book regarding the online release party, new workshops and the pre-sale!
In 2021 the direction of Burgh Witches began to shift into more of a community focused organization, so I created a Facebook group so that all the Pittsburgh residents that identify as a witch or with witchy ways of life can get together in REAL TIME outside of stores and events and do things together!
Pittsburgh! In 2020 I created Burgh Witches as a way to connect local witches with Witchy Shops and events in the area. I shot a few interviews with shop owners and posted the videos on my YouTube channel.
I began to organize the group with a new addition to my team Tandra Jones, of T’s Wicked Wonders LLC, who became an admin of the Facebook group. At first we started out just doing brunches and planning to organize an official spiritual retreat… and it quickly evolved into planning more kinds of events! Some of those events are virtual meet ups, FREE classes, and more elaborate events for our 2022-2023 calendar!
In 2022, we announced that in addition to our virtual classes, brunches & meet ups that we organized the FIRST OFFICIAL WITCHES DAY at Kennywood (which will be Saturday, June 25 and discounted tickets are available through the group until June 1) and will have a WITCH STORE TOUR on a party bus!
There’s so many wonderful benefits to joining the group and once you’re a member you can sign up for our FREE NEWSLETTER that will not only include awesome mini articles and editorials but also an events calendar that shows our personal club events but also local witchy events!

How can a sour or sweet bath help you and what is it?
Sweet baths are an essential part of multiple traditions, including Hoodoo. The concept of sweet baths come from African Traditional Religions and are used along with ‘sour’ baths to rejuvenate your auric field and enhance the sweeter energy within you and manifest sweeter abundance, sweeter interactions, sweeter reactions and sweeter relationships.
The sweet bath is just part of a larger equation that I mentioned earlier. There’s a ritual/process that’s necessary to bring this energy about. So lets talk about the ritual! First thing to know is that the sour bath gets its name from using BITTER herbs – these herbs are very powerful for removing negative energies from others, clearing the mind and auric field, as well as boosting the feel good vibes needed to open your roads to receiving the sweeter gifts that you wish spirit to bless you with. The sweet bath – as you probably would’ve guessed – gets its name from the use of more loving, SWEETER vibing herbs and ingredients.
There are 2 ways to create your baths: 1) Hot method- where you boil water and throw herbs in, allow to steep and add other ingredients once bath cools and 2) Cold method- start with your liquids and you work the roots in using your hands – no heat needed! (I prefer cold with this type of bath!)
*You will do this ritual every other day (if you start Monday, the next baths are done on Wednesday & Friday).
*Make sure to smudge/cleanse your work spaces and bathroom to allow for maximum energy flow.
*For every 1 sour bath, you will take 2 sweet baths
*Sour baths are taken anytime after sunset (before midnight), while sweet baths are taken right before sunrise.
*I prefer to make my baths separately if I haven’t cleansed prior to creating them because I want to be in the right frame of mind and emotional state to create the sweet bath.
*Place 1 white candle on each side of your tub if possible, to create a gateway of light. *Once baths are ready you’ll need to take a cup (to pour bath on you) and bowl (to catch some of the bath as it falls off your body — more on this part later).
*AIR DRY — DO NOT USE A TOWEL!
Sour Bath Ingredients
1/2 C VINEGAR
SEVERAL DROPS AMMONIA
1 C HOLY WATER OR RAIN WATER
1 C FLORIDA WATER
1 CASCARILLA (about 1-2 tablespoons)
BITTER HERBS (not complete list – just what I used)
Handful of each (odd numbers: pick 3,5,7, or 9 herbs) ABRE CAMINO, STINGING NETTLE, RUE, DANDELION, YARROW, HOREHOUND, WORMWOOD
2 C RED OR PURPLE FLOWERS (DAKREST ARE BEST/ PETALS ONLY)
Sweet Bath Ingredients
1 – 2 C HONEY
1 C HOLY WATER
1 C ROSE WATER
2-3 C COCONUT OR GOAT MILK (my preference)
1-3 perfumes or colognes you typically wear or enjoy (Use about 7 drops or sprays into the bath at very end)
SWEET HERBS (what I used)
Handful of each (odd number of herbs used) CINNAMON, NUTMEG, ALLSPICE, LAVENDAR, HYSSOP, ANGELICA ROOT
2 C WHITE OR LIGHT FLOWER PETALS (yellow, orange, white, pink)
*I used Red Roses for the pictures as I wish to invoke a very high loving vibration! However the recipe is more traditional.
You’re going to work the roots and other ingredients into the liquid using both hands while casting/ praying over the potion and you’re going to blow smoke into the brew (Cigar, Palo Santo, Sweetgrass, Sage, Cedar, Lavendar, Frankincense or Myrhh) to help bless.
Place your 7 day candle right inside basin or bowl used to create bath and place on your altar for 3 hours or more to let charge. Afterwards, remove candle and allow to burn on altar.
Place bowl in tub before time for the bath and stand over it as much as possible during the ritual.
*Sour Bath will be poured from head to toe making sure to cover all parts of the body including the head, or ori.
*Sweet baths should be poured from feet to head, still making sure to cover all parts of the body.
Now with the SOUR water collected in the bowl, you go outside and dispose of this facing the west, preferably after sunset.
With the sweet water collected in the bowl, you go outside and face east and pour out, preferably after sunrise.

The Evil Eye or al-ayn (simply “the eye” in Arabic) is a curse that is said to cause harm in varying degrees, from miniscule annoyances, to making one’s fortune dissolve, to igniting a string of bad luck—whatever that entails. It is said that one gets the Evil Eye by way of another person’s glare, praises, or compliments, whether ill-intentioned or not. A person can even give themselves the curse by acting without humility. For example, stubbornly refusing your aunts’ wisdom as you brag about your impeccable immune system is a solid way to curse yourself into getting sick, I can attest. Giving yourself the Evil Eye can even happen without the presence of others. A woman who stares in the mirror admiring her perfect skin one day might find she’s given herself the Evil Eye when she wakes up the next morning to a fresh breakout across her forehead.
Belief in the curse dates back at least 5,000 years to the Sumerians of the Euphrates Valley, though historians have found cave drawings up to 10,000 years old in Spain and amulets from 3,300 BC Syria that they believe were used to ward off the Evil Eye. Like all traditions, belief in the Evil Eye and what it entails differs from region to region, but its existence in cultures across oceans, religions, and millennia is remarkable. (Vice.com)
